 West Kingdom! Come on up the hill and enjoy a day of equestrian classes, SCA classes, equine interaction, great FOOD, grand fellowship and FUN! Spring Equestrium will be held at Pioneer Park in the shire of Mountains Gate! Pioneer Park is a beautiful location with lots of shaded picnic areas, a great playground, flush privies, lush green grass, two great arenas and easy trailer parking! Spring Equestrium WILL have something for everyone! You DO NOT need a horse…but if you have one please bring it with you! We’ll have LOTS of interactive, hands on classes – mounted and un-mounted – and activities for equine enthusiasts of every level such as weapons handling, silk banner making, improving your period appearance and a discussion on the Gaston Phebus hunt book!  MORE CLASSES BEING ADDED DAILY!

  “PERIOD” POTLUCK PICNIC! Bring a dish to share. Kudos for period dishes! There will be a prize awarded for best “period” picnic set up!

 WANT TO TEACH A CLASS? If YOU want to teach a class or host an activity that you feel would fit the “theme” of the event please let us know! We will be putting out updates and schedules periodically.

There are great wineries right up the road from the site if you want to make it a weekend stay. There is also a trailer friendly convenience store/fuel station at the corner!

 FOOD/PICNIC: We’ll be having a PICNIC as well! Prizes awarded for the best period/peri-oid picnic set up! We’ll be providing chicken, sausage and other delectables for the “main course”…you bring some side dishes to share!

  Crash space for people and horses is available on Friday and Saturday night about 20 minutes from the site. We plan to feed guests so please RSVP if you need crash space (or just want to come and hang out afterwards) by March 30, 2011. A BBQ dinner will happen after the event on Saturday.

Site Information: Pioneer Park Equestrian Arena is located at 6740 Fairplay Road Somerset, CA. 95684. Site opens at 8:30am and closes at 5:00pm. Classes start at 10:00am. Site fee is just $15.00 per person (lunch provided).

From the S. BAY AREA: Take your best route to Hwy. 580 East and head towards Stockton. Keep LEFT to take I-205 E toward TRACY/STOCKTON. Merge onto I-5 N. Merge onto CA-4 E toward CA-99/DOWNTOWN STOCKTON/ANGELS CAMP. Merge onto CA-99 N via the exit on the LEFT toward SACRAMENTO. Take the CA-88 E/WATERLOO RD exit, EXIT 255, toward JACKSON. Turn RIGHT onto WATERLOO RD/CA-88. Continue to follow CA-88 East. Turn left on CA-124. Turn LEFT onto W MAIN ST/CA-104/CA-124. Take the 1st RIGHT onto PRESTON AVE/CA-104/CA-124.  From the SOUTH: Take your best route to Hwy. 88 East. Turn left on CA-124. Turn LEFT onto W MAIN ST/CA-104/CA-124. Take the 1st RIGHT onto PRESTON AVE/CA-104/CA-124.  From the EAST: Take your favorite route to Hwy. 50 West and heads towards Placerville, CA. Take exit 54 in CAMINO. Slight right on CARSON ROAD. Left on SNOWS ROAD. Turn right to stay on Snows Road. Left on NEWTOWN ROAD. Left on PLEASANT VALLEY ROAD. Right on MT. AUKUM ROAD/ CR-E16. Left on FAIRPLAY ROAD. Park on the right hand side. (If you are coming from the Reno side it has been suggested to take 80 West to 50 East and follow the directions from Sacramento)
